CITY METRO — TERMS OF SERVICE

Effective Date: September 23, 2026
Operating Authority: Lego City County Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Welcome to City Metro. By purchasing a fare, boarding a City Metro vehicle, entering City Metro property, or using our mobile application and digital services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern all passenger conduct, fare requirements, and digital asset usage associated with the City Metro network, including buses, light rail, subways, and commuter rail services. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are prohibited from utilizing City Metro services and must exit City Metro property immediately.

2. Fare Compliance and Ticketing

  • Proof of Payment: All passengers must possess a valid, activated ticket, transit pass, or validated smart card (e.g., Metro Transit Pass) prior to boarding or entering designated "fare-paid" zones.
  • Inspections: Passengers must present valid proof of payment upon request by any City Metro Fare Inspector, Transit Ambassador, or Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Evasion: Failure to show a valid fare may result in an immediate administrative citation, fine, or ejection from the system.

3. Passenger Conduct and Safety Rules

To ensure the safety and comfort of all riders, the following behaviors are strictly prohibited on all City Metro vehicles and properties:

  • Dangerous Behavior: Smoking, vaping, consuming alcoholic beverages, or using illegal substances.
  • Nuisances: Playing loud music without headphones, littering, spitting, or occupying more than one seat when vehicles are crowded.
  • Safety Interference: Standing past the yellow safety line, obstructing vehicle doors, or tampering with emergency equipment.
  • Solicitation: Unauthorized commercial activity, panhandling, or distributing unapproved flyers or materials.

4. Service Availability and Delays

  • No Guarantee of Schedule: City Metro strives to maintain punctual operations; however, timetables and schedules are estimates. City Metro does not guarantee arrival or departure times.
  • Force Majeure: Service may be altered, delayed, or suspended without notice due to weather, traffic, construction, mechanical failure, or emergency conditions. City Metro is not liable for any losses, costs, or damages arising from missed connections or delayed travel.

5. Digital Services & Mobile App Usage

  • Account Security: If you create an account on the City Metro mobile app, you are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • Permitted Use: You may use our digital systems solely to track schedules, plan routes, purchase digital tickets, or manage transit accounts. Reverse engineering, scraping data, or launching denial-of-service attacks against City Metro servers will result in immediate termination of account access and legal escalation.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by local law, City Metro and its employees, directors, or contractors shall not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the transit system or any service interruptions.

7. Changes to the Terms

City Metro reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted publicly at major transit hubs and updated on our official website. Continued use of our transit services following an update constitutes definitive acceptance of the revised Terms.
