Heads Up Riders! New faregates at Death Star City Station!

 <img src="https://citymetro.xyz/hubfs/servicealert.jpg" alt="Heads Up Riders!

If you've recently traveled on the A Line at Death Star City Station, you may have noticed some of the new changes were testing. These changes include larger destination boards, larger entrance signage, and new faregates. While the other changes are important, we want you to be aware of changes caused by the new faregates. These faregates are wider, allow for bidirectional use. This means that riders may both enter and exit the station using the same faregates. If your wondering how to use these new faregates, learn more about them, or just some tips and tricks, continue reading below.

Tips and Tricks

Make sure to check that no one else is entering the faregate from the opposite side. During rush hour, always use the right hand side faregate from your view. This means if your entering the station, use the turnstile that is closet to the Union Station side of the platform. If you are exiting, use the turnstile that is closest to the Santa Mooica side of the platform.

Tap your BrickPass card and continue. Depending on the amount of traffic, gates may stay open, even if fares aren't paid. Make sure to always tap your card, and if you hear a denied beep, make sure to tap again. Please note that during rush hour, and gates aren't staying open, you may tap and continue right after another passenger has just paid for their fare. This means that as soon as one passenger has paid their fare, another can do the same and continue on their journey. You don't need to wait for the gates to close before tapping again.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. City Metro staff and BrickPass staff are at the station to assist you. These faregates are being tested to help travelers navigate our rail system easily. If you don't ask staff, don't hesitate to send us an email at hello@citymetro.xyz.

When you tap your BrickPass card, credit card, or phone, make sure to tap on the reader. The reader will show a completion screen if your payment is completed. Otherwise make sure to tap again, or ask a station employee for assistance.

Tap to Exit is in affect. Please make sure to tap your card on the reader facing you to exit. If you didn't tap into the system within the last two hours, you will be charged your fare, and you will be reported to City Metro Transit Police.

CCTV is in affect. Make sure to respect all rules, pay your fare, and follow instructions of staff. Those that fail to pay may be subject to fines and other legal consequences. CCTV feed may or will be used by police to insure that those failing to follow the City Metro Code of Conduct will be prosecuted with CCTV used as evidence.

Thank you for understanding as we work to continue creating, expanding, and maintaining our growing transit system. These faregates are only a small part of our plan to insure we have a safe, effective, and easy to use transit system for all. If you have any questions, please email hello@citymetro.xyz.

Over the past few years many great things have come to City Metro. While this is great, I want us to look back over the years to some of the amazing things City Metro did from the start to now. Also we'll look in towards the future of some of City Metro's amazing plans.

2022
- City Metro is founded and Light Rail Service is proposed.

2023
- We receive the first City Metro trains, Lego City Electric 717, and our first light rail vehicle #747.
- City Metro rapidly expands with the two main lines, the L (Gold) and the E (Expo).
- City Metro begins subway service with the B and D lines.
- Metroliner services start with the G and J lines.
- The very first Metro Map is created in June, and the L (Gold) is replaced by the A line.

2024
- City Metro's first website is launched at felixfeger46.wixsite.com/citymetro.
- City Metro continues to expand it's light rail, subway, and bus fleet.
- The K line is created and follows most of the original route of the original City MetroLink K line.
- City Metro Ferries is created linking Heartlake Beach and Downtown Santa Mooica.
- The FLX Terminal People Mover finally opens, finally linking all the FLX terminals.
- Union Station Lego City is reconstructed to a new version.
- City Metro launches alerts.citymetro.xyz with statuspage.io to help riders more easily access live status updates.
- The Republic State Railway and Transportation Agency is created with City Metro and the newly created Republic States Railways to help maintain transportation across the Republic States.

F Line Service Changes

Hello Riders,

Hello Riders,

This post is to inform you of the upcoming service changes for the F Line.

What's Happening:
Starting Sunday, December 7th, the F line will run as a terminal connector at FLX, between the Airport Metro Transit Center (Terminal 1) and FLX Terminal 2 stations.

What this means, and how it may affect your ride:
The F line currently stops at Downtown Lego City, Emergency HQ, and the AMTC. After these changes are implement on December 7th, you must ride the E instead to go to Emergency HQ and Downtown Lego City stations. Riding the E instead should not add to your travel time, and it should even speed up your journey.

Why we're doing this:
FLX has been known for its separated terminals, without a proper transit link between them. To bridge this gap, as well as how the F line follows the E line path for its entire route, we've decided to make the F become FLX's new terminal connector. With this change you'll be able to ride on dedicated airport trains, and change terminals faster than ever.

Looking into the future:
The plan for the F line is to turn it into an automated APM, that will be built on its own right of way. Currently this plan is a little far away, so we're using the F to bridge the gap until the APM is completed.

We apologize if this causes any confusion. Please contact us for any questions or concerns. Thank you for understanding how important this change is City Metro.

City Metro is currently experiencing issues with its communications systems (email), and it's website domain. At this time City Metro has minimized its issues, but we are still working on it.

What's going on: City Metro found out that its new communications system powered by ZOHO had some security concerns, causing us to turn to Cloudflare. We decided to move all our DNS provider to Cloudflare, and are in the process of fully migrating.

This affects who: Mainly emailing our support team as well as for some customers to access citymetro.xyz.

How long will issues persist: At this time we estimate that most of these issues have been resolved, but some customers still may have trouble with contacting our support team. To contact our support team via chat, you may press the Live Chat feature on our website located in the bottom right-hand corner.

We apologize for any inconvenience. For more information, please contact our support team by chat or emailing hello@citymetro.xyz. Thank you for understanding.

As we work on rebuilding sections of Airport Way, here are some ways to get to FLX via City Metro.

As we work on rebuilding sections of Airport Way, here are some ways to get to FLX via City Metro.

Getting to FLX by Rail

Use the A, B, C, D, E, F, or K Lines that ALL stop at Airport Metro Transit Center.

Getting to FLX by Bus

-Take the 76 Loop Bus around downtown to Union Station. Transfer to the FLX Shuttle from Union Station directly to FLX. It departs in bus bay 1 or 2, located right outside the A and E Line station.
-Take the 211B bus directly to FLX via Main St. It operates during the day every 10-15 minutes, and every 20 - 25 minutes during late nights or mornings.

Getting to FLX by Ride share or Taxis

-Taxis depart from the ride share lot at Union Station, and operate all throughout downtown, however prices are expensive due to increased traffic.

For more information please visit citymetro.xyz/metro-map or talk to our support staff to learn more on ways to travel to FLX. Thank you for cooperating as we work to reopen the road as soon as possible.
